ROME - Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency, in partnership with city, county and state agencies, will hold its free 2010 Summer Youth Bash from 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 9 at Franklyn’s Field.

The annual event is an opportunity for the young people of Rome to learn about the many services available to them, MVCAA Rome Program Director Carmine Jadoo said.

Joining Community Action will be the New York National Guard Counterdrug Task Force, Rome Police Department, Oneida County Sheriff’s Department, Rome Weed & Seed, Oneida County BOCES, Catholic Charities, American Red Cross, Rome Art and Community Center, Excellus Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Li’l Caesar’s, Burger King, Papa Rick’s, NBT Bank, Rite Aid Distribution Center, Rome Fire Department and the Rome Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Activities.

There will be free food and activities that will include a climbing wall, skateboard ramp, music, games and prizes.
