Mohawk Valley Community Action will host, “Highlighting Poverty: The Next Step” a follow-up session to the successful “Highlighting Poverty: A Community Symposium” that was held in June. The dialogue established at the day-long event will continue at MVCC’s Utica Campus IT Building, Room 225 on Wednesday, July 29, from 9:00 – Noon. The meeting is free and open to the public. The purpose of this follow up meeting is to establish a community vision to reduce poverty and create a brighter future for the Mohawk Valley.

 

The committee, comprised of volunteers from Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency, Mohawk Valley Community College, RCIL, Catholic Charities, Utica Safe Schools and Success Strategies, is committed to addressing the issue of poverty and presenting viable strategies for reducing poverty in our community. For information on the meeting or on how to get involved in the cause, contact Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency at 624-9930.
