2019 Poverty Symposium
MVCAA and Utica College are partnering to present the 2019 Poverty Symposium on Monday, January 28th, 4-7 pm at the College Campus in Utica. The Symposium is designed to raise awareness of the many causes of poverty, the effect poverty has on the entire community, and provides an opportunity for all of us to work toward ending poverty here in our community. Participants will gather at MVCAA's Ney Ave site, 1110 Ney Ave, and walk to the College. At the College a panel of local and national representatives will discuss the many issues surrounding poverty, and will engage in a dialogue wiht participants. Immediately following the panel, attendees will share their personal struggles, their achievements and goals. A PhotoVoice display will also be installed at the Symposium further depicting personal stories. The event is open to the public, but registration is encouraged.
