Community Action Day Celebration!
The Agency’s “Stand Against Poverty Parade” will be held at its Utica Community Action Access Point (CAAP), 1100 Miller Street. The event will kick off at 11:30 am with a walk leaving the CAAP and proceeding to the Agency’s Calvary Site, 308 South Street, and returning to the CAAP. At the CAAP at approximately Noon, event speakers will talk about the problems and possible solutions for poverty in our community. Scheduled to speak are Congressman Anthony Brindisi (NY 22) and Amy Turner, Executive Director, MVCAA.
“Our Community has such great potential with the many projects planned for the Cities of Utica and Rome and throughout Oneida & Herkimer Counties. However, we can’t ignore our low-income families. With one of the highest child poverty rates in the State, we cannot forget to include the needs—and the abilities—of all our families,” Amy Turner, Executive Director.
